A little bird informs me that the Royal Oak in Bovingdon Green is about to undergo a change of ownership.
If the new owners do half as good a job as was done by Jemma, Dennis and the rest of the current team then the pub will remain in good hands. Here's hoping for the best.

Does this maen that it will lose its nickname of "The Moon" i.e. no atmosphere?
Surely it is the people that go into a pub that make the atmosphere. Speaking for myself I like to go into a pub to meet my friends and be able to drink and chat without having loud music drown out the conversation.
There are those of us who enjoy this type of pub. I would suggest that if you want loud music, pool tables, flashing fruit machines etc then there are lots of other places you can go.
Speaking for myself, I think the pub will be a far sadder place once Jemma, Dennis and co have gone.
